New Day

It was a rough night here at the hospital, but the sky is beginning to brighten and a new day is just around the corner.

Esther and I will be heading down to dialysis in a few minutes. We are both exhausted.

If you'd like to send an encouraging note to Esther while she is here at the hospital, please click on the link below and follow the directions. Esther's room number is Baird 523. That will change tomorrow, but the volunteers who hand deliver the emails will be sure to find her.

Oh Nancy... I just read the last three entries.

What a rollercoaster you guys are on.

I just want to be one of the other people in your life mothering you! Here are hugs and soft strokings of your head and mumbles of "it's ok, it's ok"... which is what I do with my kids when their going through something rough.

And thank you to Kit for the good advice - as someone who tends to do to much - I know how valuable a friend who says, "say no" can be!

Hopefully Esther will forget much of what she went through last night, but unfortunately you won't. But by seeing the good in it, and focusing on Esther's sweet nature, you've redeemed some of those hours.

I keep wishing there was something we could do to help or that I could think of just the right words of encouragement.

but lacking eloquence I go with practical:

Don't forget your vitamins, drink lots of water and know you are all loved.

I sent her a little note. I hope that you get it!

Get well soon, Esther.

Dearest Nancy, Stephen and I checked the blog tonight and both of us wept. We will say our prayers tonight holding you all in our hearts. I would sandwich you in a big hug. I have faith that this transplant will be helpful and worth all the trouble. There is so much in my heart that I wish I could say but there are not words good enough. I sent an email to Esther but I am not sure that I signed it. Give her a hug from me and one to Tom too. Much love, leslie

Hi Nancy, Esther and family, we are praying for you; Dear Father in heaven, please give Esther a peaceful and restful night. And grant the doctors skill and success in the transplant tomorrow. Hold Esther in your loving arms, Lord Jesus. In Your name, Amen.
Our love to you all, Anje D.
